When you take on the marketing for a small business, you don’t have a large team to call on, so you have to be a multitasker.

With limited budgets and, more importantly, time, you have no choice but to become knowledgeable in a wide range of marketing skills. You need to decide which elements of the Marketing Mix are relevant to the business, which ones to do yourself, and which ones to outsource (budget depending).

The support and friendship of fellow marketers has always been very important to me. This website is a celebration of marketers in my network who inspire and influence. The result is a showcase of informed marketing ideas.

After I launched this website, I joined Marketing 101 as the Head of PR and Digital. Even though I am now in an ambitious and lively agency, the same principles still apply. As an agency we like to collaborate and share ideas with fellow marketers. And working out which elements of the marketing mix will work for an individual client is one of the most important ways in which we add value.
